Mascot Training

Rainbow Productions prides itself on offering our clients a turn-key package.  In addition to offering skilled production of mascot costumes, we provide after-sales support services to help our clients maximise the benefits associated with their mascot investment. One of these support services is mascot training.

Our expert practical advice is gained through over 30 years of experience. Classes on how to become a mascot can be delivered on-site at client venues in the UK or overseas.  Alternatively, we can host personnel at training sessions at our London studio.

Training workshops are mainly geared towards business organisations who have commissioned bespoke mascots. We offer tips on how to portray their unique mascot during personal appearances at company events, campaigns and public appearances.

We are also proud that our skill-set and knowledge of costume performance is recognised to the extent that we work in partnership with character IP owners. Brands trust us to train their overseas partners on how to specifically portray their licensed property’s characteristics in a live environment.

We have delivered training workshops to clients operating in a range of sectors – see a couple of examples below.

We are experienced in working with UK and international sports tournaments to deliver mascot training sessions.  Many tournaments invest in multiples of a sports mascot design. These mascots are then used in a wide range of publicity, educational and merchandising environments in the run up to the event and during the tournament itself.  To help ensure consistency in how the mascot interacts in a live environment, we train personnel at sporting organisations.

We also provide training to individuals who may be a local team mascot looking to learn more about character performance.

We work with increasing numbers of well-known global travel companies, holiday destinations and resorts to create home-grown brand mascots for use at Kids’ Clubs.  We help these companies train their own personnel, so they can effectively portray Kids’ Club brand ambassadors within holiday destinations.  Our trainers have experience in delivering training across several individual resorts.  They can also travel overseas to one venue, giving clients the option to arrange for their staff to head from resorts to one central location.  Alternatively, we are happy to host sessions.

Being a mascot is not as simple as just wearing the costume; the performer must be energetic to capture the audience’s attention.

An expert performer will embody the mascot’s character, taking on its form and personality.

Whether you’re looking to book a mascot training session for yourself, or you’re organising it for people in your team, you’ll want to find out what will be covered in our training agenda.

We love sharing our enthusiasm and passion for mascot performance! The training itinerary will cover topics such as:

  • Practical tips for the performer
  • Interacting with the public
  • The importance of gesture
  • Health and safety
  • Advice on how to store costumes

Each attendee will also receive a training manual to take home.
