We are looking for a Fabrics Assistant to join our busy team.
Reporting directly to the Fabrics Manager, the duties are to include:
Liaising with Production, Sales, and Wardrobe departments to discuss fabric and costume requirements
Physical role with daily manual lifting
Producing fabric sample sheets, sending to clients, and resampling if required.
Sourcing and ordering fabrics, accessories, haberdashery, and props for all new costumes.
Ordering other stock items such as footwear, fittings, fastenings, and vinyl.
Maintaining and organising fabrics in the warehouse.
Prioritising, collating, and distributing fabrics for projects to the workshop in order and by deadlines.
Reshelving fabrics when projects are complete.
Producing box sheets for new costumes.
Liaising with clients at meetings, over the phone and email to discuss fabric options and for approvals.
Liaising with suppliers, sourcing new suppliers, and requesting samples.
Liaising with outhouse makers, dyers, knitters for specific projects and sending materials to them.
Reordering fabrics from suppliers / dyers as necessary.
Generating and managing purchase orders for suppliers and signing off invoices.
Any other ad hoc duties that may arise.
You will be self-motivated and reliable with excellent attention to detail. You’ll have strong organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines. This role will require lifting/moving rolls of fabric, so you should be physically able to do this.
