Many licensed pre-school characters will see their profile boosted this summer as they benefit from an extensive programme of licensed character appearances executed by Rainbow Productions who will ensure that their range of children’s favourites are seen by families at a range of live events and venues throughout the UK.

Locations such as shopping centres, large retail outlets, leisure attractions and nurseries will all offer an opportunity for the public to see and interact with their much-loved children’s brands.

Every day during the Great Yorkshire Show, which took place in Harrogate from July 9th – 11th, Wallace & Gromit plus Shaun the Sheep made personal appearances within the BBC Yorkshire catchment area.  This year, the 155th edition of the Show, attracted 134,837 visitors to see the Aardman trio.

Upcoming summer events featuring a strong presence from Rainbow Productions’ licensed children’s characters include LolliBop, the festival for kids which runs from August 16th – 18th.  Now in its fourth year, the festival moves to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in 2013 and will see Rainbow Productions managing the presence every day of the following children’s brands, confirmed to date: SpottyWot and DottyWot from The WotWots, Poppy Cat, Postman Pat® and Jess the Cat, Tommy & Tallulah from Tickety Toc, Baba Blue and Baba Pink from the Cloudbabies, Peppa Pig and Lalaloopsy Jewel Sparkles.

Other live events this summer offering festival goers an opportunity to see licensed children’s characters include Lounge on the Farm 2013.  This year this music festival at Merton Farm in Canterbury from July 26th – 28th featuring local bands and musicians will also include guest appearances by Peppa Pig and George.

Every Wednesday for four consecutive weeks, starting at the end of July, Coventry City Council has arranged for children’s characters to meet and greet families in the city centre as part of a summer activities programme. The brands to benefit will be: Mike the Knight (July 31st), Fireman Sam (August 7th), Ben and Holly (August 14th) and Fifi Forget-Me-Not (August 21st).

Arranged by Heart of Manchester BID (the city’s new Business Improvement District) Peppa Pig will also be greeting a multitude of her young fans at the Festival Hub in Exchange Square on August 6th as part of an urban gardening festival called Dig the City which runs from August 3rd – 11th .
